The nations pledge an amount .. that means any amount .. the US pledged big under Obama .. they could have just as well pledged a dollar to the accord and although the other nations would have laughed .. it would have been allowed .. there is no min or max pledge ..
Trump gave more interesting reasons for pulling out .. like meeting their own emission levels would cost American jobs and would be a burden on American industry .. as stated these reasons were lies as there is and was no binding legal remedy that the other nations could use to force the US to follow its own emission target ..
